A Privately Held Nigerian Oil E&P Company
Oriental is a privately held oil and gas exploration and production company focused on Nigeria.
Oriental currently has three projects in the offshore Nigerian Oil and Gas industry which include OML 115, Ebok Field (OML 67) and the Okwok Field (OML 67); all in various stages of appraisal and/or development.
Oriental is a story of tenacity and perseverance. Founded in 1990, Oriental was granted one of the first blocks, OPL 224, in the 1990 Marginal Field round. In the 20+ years since, Oriental have converted OPL224 into OML 115 and have added both the Okwok and Ebok assets to their portfolio.
Through aggressive exploration and appraisal drilling programs, Oriental has proved the Okwok Field economically viable and will see the Ebok Field put on production early in the 2nd Qtr. of 2011. With the onset of the Ebok Field, Oriental will embark on the largest development program for an independent Nigerian oil company to-date. Oriental have also established the offshore Ebok Terminal for the storage and offloading of crude oil.
Oriental is a staunch supporter of the Nigerian domestic oil industry, adheres to strong ethical EHSS policies and is a considerable contributor to the empowerment of of our local host communities.
Oriental will continue with the development of its current holdings and will move forward, employing strategic alliances, as it looks for opportunities to increase its footprint in Nigeria.
